Toronto’s Allen Gardens: Winter Respite

Toronto’s Allen Gardens provides a wonderful respite from the damp, cold of Winter 2014. On Carleton Street just 2 blocks east of Yonge, Allen Gardens is a wonderful warm pardise of floral color and beauty 7 days a week in the city. Because its free, warm and has a few benches for seating and reading, Allen Gardens has replaced AGO and ROM as my “goto” place for soothing relaxation- 10 minutes or 2 hours. Snuff by Terry Pratchett is the current reading pleasure and one can churn up visions of DiscWold especially in the Desert Gallery at the Gardens.

But this year’s Christmas Show had a spectacular display of Poinsetta and other Christmas floral fare.
