High Park and all of Toronto got to finally indulge in double digit Spring warmth. And the trees responded with bright red and subtle yellow-green buds – making a walk and picture taking a pleasure. Here is what I saw:
Plunge to the Depths
It is the surface ripples and forms
that draw attention outward and around
to a week ago rippled by snowstorms
alighting without a scintilla of wind skirmish,
yet now we see the plates
the plates that you and eyes
take for not-impartial colored fates
hanging like a jazz riff raff upon
the surface entangled and reflecting
depth yet to be discovered
yet another time for risking
a lure of ever wider comprehension
only to skim along another liquid tiling
enchanted with all its wonder
above and in depth below.
