Artists Scene in Canada: Heather Munro, Painting for Kids

Heather Munro has a rogue’s gallery of childhood criminals – perverse big bugeyed, furry critters ready to to do mayhem like likable minions in any Despicable Me fable. It is as if one saw in quadruplicate the demons of kids dreams in full technicolor. As if “slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe while all mimsy were the borogoves, and the mome raths outgrabe”.

This is the kind of inventive fun kids and parent both can enjoy. Now what makes these painting even more intriguing is that many appear to be re-imagined portraits of kids and people that have caught Heather’s eye. And just take a look at Heather’s black and white sketches for a lively imaginary world worthy of Lewis Carrol. See her full website and contact information here.
