Last Fall, Northumberland county in Eastern Ontario put on a dramatic color show – the best in the past 5 years.
Fall color-turn started early in September
For this Fall it helped that there was plenty of rain which adds luster to Fall’s colors. Also the frosts were delayed by a warm, Indian Summer spell so the leaves were not harvested early in the season. Ditto for the winds which can strip the countryside of its most dramatic colors in just a day or two. In sum, the Weather Gods were co-operating. And so the early hues and scenes were truly delightful.

Some days, no matter where you turned there were many places to walk and hike with a great shot just about anywhere you looked. The real challenge was to take photos that did justice to the beauty of the countryside.
