Photo Contest at the Warkworth Maple Syrup Festival

The big news for the Pics of Canada is the return of the  the Maple Syrup Festival Photo Contest sponsored by the Warkworth Library and this blog. From the photo above there will be more than enough photo opportunities at this years festival. And this year there is an added Sweet Prize [see just below]  if you submit your photos at the library during the Festival on Saturday March 10th or Sunday March 11th.  Come to the Library, buy some bargain books, follow a quick presentation on a better photo composition  and get some free photo software as well.

To help celebrate the Warkworth Maple Syrup Festival, the Warkworth Library is repeating its successful  photo contest and added a sweet twist. The Library will be open both Saturday March 10th  and Sunday March 11th  for the Festival and  will be serving  lots of books and magazines for sale along with free coffee and other snackable goodies. In addition sit down, rest your feet and send an email out  to tell your friends about the good times to be found at the Warkworth Spring-is-coming Maple Syrup Fest  on one of the 9 computers connected to the Internet. Or  bring your images of the festival and see them projected on the Big Screen  available at the Library. there will also be tipps and tutorial available on how to make your photos contest ready – see here for an example of  slide show on photo errors and how to correct them before or after shooting. .

Now here comes the  promised Sweet Twist. Enter one or more pictures in the Library’s Photo Contest  and get a Piece of Warkworthian Perfect Pie for free [otherwise Perfect Pie Pieces cost a doubloon ]. The Photo Contest is again split into two categories – Maple Syrup Events and People shots. You can enter your photos directly at the library or send them by email here by March 21st. There will be 3 prizes:
1 – a Top Prize of $100 for best Photo from all submissions
2 – a Compact Digital Camera prize for the best Maple Syrup Event Photo
3 – a Photoshop Image Processing book + free software CD for the top People Photo.

All winners will be invited to add a pargraph  about their photo to be shown on the PicsofCanada.com website along with the top ten submissions.

All of the photos entered  into the contest remain the property of their owners. But the Maple Syrup Festival organizers and the PicsofCanada.com reserve the right each  to use 3 copies of no greater than 1000 x 1000 pixels in size for their event promotion and other purposes. Use of sizes greater than 1000 x 1000 pixels are subject to permission from the original photographers.
